Focus and Scope

Al'Adalah: Journal of Islamic Studies is a double‑anonymous, peer‑reviewed journal. It focuses on original research and critical approaches within Islamic Studies—covering Islamic law, ethics, theology, philosophy, history, and contemporary Muslim life—and on the principles and methods applied when engaging these traditions with today’s global challenges. In particular, the journal welcomes thematic and empirical case‑study submissions in, but not limited to, the following areas: Law & Jurisprudence (Fiqh); Economics, Finance & Business; Qur’anic & Hadith Studies; Philosophy & Theology (Kalam); History & Civilization; Education & Modernity; and Contemporary Muslim Societies.

Al'Adalah: Journal of Islamic Studies places special emphasis on contributions that: 1. Address ethical, legal, or social dimensions of Islam in contemporary contexts; 2. Employ rigorous theoretical frameworks or cutting‑edge empirical methods; and 3. Engage interdisciplinary dialogue across regional and cultural boundaries.
